Tanker Tip: Limit the Light

When operating at the dump and fill sites, tanker drivers should shut off emergency lighting, headlights and only use necessary floodlighting when these lights would cause vision issues for other tanker drivers. This reduces momentary blindness caused by newer common intensely bright warning lights and helps drivers maintain better visibility.

Emergency lighting should be used selectively with due regard when staging in or near

roadways. In these instances drivers should activate only the emergency lighting that is necessary.
